Kristi Brandenburger
Born and raised in Houston, TX, Kristi found her love for dance at the age of five and hasn’t looked back. Kristi was a member of the Pearland High School Prancers, serving as Major her junior year and Lt. Colonel her senior year. Upon graduating from the University of Houston, she performed works by independent artists Becky Valls, Teresa Chapman, Amy Ell, Michelle Manzanales, and Toni Leago Valle. She has performed at the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, The Weekend of Contemporary Dance at Miller Outdoor Theater, and at Barnstorm Dance Fest. Kristi is one of our assistant directors and is entering her 20th season with Steppers Dance Studio. Her unique staging and storytelling has made her a sought-after choreographer. Kristi’s accolades with Star Steppers include numerous regional titles, national championship titles, choreography awards, and silver and bronze Dance Worlds titles. Kristi’s most cherished career moments are the memories and connections she makes with the students she has the opportunity to teach, watching them go on to reach their dreams of dancing for collegiate university dance teams and programs, dancing professionally, and becoming teachers and directors themselves. In addition to her role at Star Steppers, she choreographs and guest-teaches for select high school dance teams in the area. Kristi resides in League City, TX with her husband Jason, their son Stephen, and three dogs.
