Deanna Keefer
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Deanna Keefer began taking dance classes at the age of five. She has extensive training in jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary/lyrical, modern, pom, hip hop, and drill team. While attending Pearland High School, she joined the Prancers dance team, where she served as a social officer and was also selected for Jazz Company and Kick Company. Deanna graduated from the University of Houston- Clear Lake in 2014 with a master’s degree in educational leadership, and she currently holds an 8-12 Dance certification through the state of Texas. She has 13 years of experience as a public-school teacher, four of these years, she worked as the Assistant Dance Director for Clear Brook High School. Deanna has also taught competitive dance at Star Steppers for 18 seasons, 8 of which have been at the Varsity level. Deanna is extremely passionate about the art of dance and believes that it is more than just a class, but a way to express yourself while also improving discipline, technique, responsibility, organization, time management, and character. Because of this, she thoroughly enjoys educating the next generation of dancers and hopes they fall in love with the art of dance, as she did.
